  My reason for my recent visit to the Coleshill hotel was for a wake, however I have attended before just for lunch. Both times I have been I have enjoyed my visit, the interior is lovely and the staff are all accommodating. The prices are more than average but you only get what you pay for and the food here is lovely. The place has an upmarket feel to it due to the variety of items and the decor.

  The front of house staff are lovely, however there's a few issues in the background. We had on evening bee. Waiting for our meals for other an hour, when we queried with the waitress she advised us that their head chef had left and it was one of the kitchen staff doing all the food untill the new one could start.
  
  Rooms are dated and haven't changed in the last 7 years or so, old wooden beds which had curved head boards created a gap between it, and the top of the mattress. it was in this gap my wife could find me each morning.
  
  Windows are definitely not sound proof or energy efficient we could hear every conversation happening outside the room when the bar closed. Fridays and Saturdays nights are the worst.

  Cant believe a hotel cant cope with more than 8 meals! I have just tried to book a table in the restaurant for Friday at 12 noon for 10 to 16 people for a wake. I have been told we have to choose between two starters and two mains because there is more than 8 of us. So from the vast menu we have to come up with two meals that all of us like and that's it. Think it might be a drink or two in there as I cant change the order of service now and then over to the Red Lion for food. Absolutely ridiculous

  Five stars for the staff and the food . Stayed here as part of a group working at NEC . Really friendly and accommodating , the chef made 7 perfect meals just as the kitchen was closing on a Sunday night . Young girl who checked me in was , cheerful and really helpful. And breakfast staff were attentive too .. shower really powerful room clean and tidy . Beds not that comfortable, and it could do with a bit of paint here and there ,, but was worth every penny and I wouldn't hesitate to stay at or recommend to anybody ..
